Week 1 Dec 17 to 24

It's been a whilwind week. We arrived in KL on Saturday at 10pm local time (1am Sydney time) after rushing to catch our connecting flight in Singapore. We came straight to our place at Dua Residency.

Sunday and Monday we were shown around a few places by the Webbs and the Zammits who are leaving and met Toni and Michael, the other newcomers. We went to Suzi's Corner, a very popular place for expats with great steak and Jalan Alhor, great street food and tried stingray and lots of other other delicious food. We also went to Chinatown and a few of the grocery stores.

We have spent the rest of the week walking around and getting aquianted with our surroundings. We havn't driven our car yet, as most things are within a 20 minute walk or taxi ride for a few dollars.

The Petronis towers, only a 20 minute walk through the park; the view from our balcony; the kids in the pool.
Lachlan and Danae have been in the pool here everyday and Lachlan has made friends with a boy from Jordan.

Our boxes arrived Friday and we are mostly unpacked, though not yet sorted. We are still waiting for internet and TV connection, which won't be until at least Jan 10th.

Yesterday was Danae's birthday, she got an ipod touch and is very excited! She wanted 'donushi' (cute little doughnuts decorated to look like sushi) for her cake and chose to go to a Japanese restaurant for dinner. We found a place that has all you can eat and lots of variety, it was ok but the sushi and sushimi was much better than the hot food. We havn't taken many photos but will try to remember to take a camera more often.

The Australin bear, all UN countries are represented, the Aussie bear was decorated by Ken Done; winter wonderland at Pavillion shopping centre, with Ava; the entrance to our building; it's an ipod!!; swimming...again.

Tomorrow we are off to Penang for 4 nights and are stopping at Ipoh on the way home and have a surprise in store there for the kids. We are driving and it will be Steve's first experience on Malaysian roads, so that will be interesting. They drive on the same side as us, but don't seem to follow any rules. Having said that though there is no road rage here.

We hope everyone has a safe and merry Christmas.
