Week 47: nov 5 to 11

Mon a very quiet day at home after Steve left for Lumut and Penang.
I had an early start on Tuesday, after getting ready and picking up Cathy, we went to the manza Melbourne cup luncheon at the Renaisance from 9:30 till 4. We had a wonderful time, I won one of the sweeps and got my money back for the day. Then Tuesday night we went out for dinner at Chinoz with Louise.
Lachlan had another doctors appointment Wednesday morning with the specialist. Afterwards we went looking for a french bakery nearby that I had heard about and had lunch there. I wish we had found it earlier, it was fantastic! Then we went and did a little shopping around Bukit Bintang.
Thursday was pretty quiet and although Lachlan's eye was better he stayed home for the whole week. Steve arrived home Thursday afternoon.
Steve was home from work by lunch time Friday, so Lachlan, Steve and I went out for lunch. In the evening we got pizza, played some 500 and listened to music.
I was busting to show Steve the little french bakery I had found, so we all went there for breakfast Saturday morning. Again it was great. Then we went to Wisma Central to pick up some things I had taken to the tailor to get fixed, and to KLCC to pick up some food and drinks to take with us for lunch. Steve had been asked to play football for the Malaysian Warriors. So we drove down to Alice Smith High School and spent the afternoon watching a very muddy game of football against Jakata. Steve scored a goal and the Warriors won. After the game we had some drinks in the carpark, then drove home. It took ages to get home, the traffic was bad. When we finally got home we fed the kids, had showers and Steve and I went out to have drinks with the team at Havana Bar.
On Sunday morning I went with Louise to Deepavali Carnival and bought some lovely Indian tops and a scarf. I had wanted to get a Sari, but had trouble choosing one. We had a quiet afternoon. Now that Lachlan was all better Danae caught it from him.

Week 46: oct 29 to nov 4

Lachlan's eye was still not good Monday morning, so I took him to the doctor. He gave him some drops and told us to go back to see him on Wednesday. On Wednesday he gave him the week off school. By Friday it was still not better so went went to see a specialist at Prince Court Hospital. She said he needed to stay home for another week, cleared away most of the membrane that had formed over his eye, and gave us some drops and ointments to give over the next week. Poor Lachlan has to have either drops or ointment, or bothput in his eyes every hour.
Tuesday night we went out for Halloween dinner at Tony Romas, but the kids didn't dress up.
Friday night we went to Ben's for dinner and bought Lachlan some runners at KLCC.
Saturday we went to Chinatown in the morning, but got tired of bartering (there are more tourists on the weekends) and came home after lunch. We spent the afternoon hanging out, listening to music and playing cards.
Sunday we did grocery shopping in the morning, then went to Louise's in the afternoon for a get together. We had a great time and ended up kicking on at Souled Out with the few people still left at the end.

Week 45: oct 22 to 28

Monday night we went to the Guiness Anchor Brewery for drinks and dinner with some of the other overseas course participants.
After Zumba on Wednesday, Cathy and I went to Bangsar to pay for our tickets to the Melbourne Cup luncheon, then to mid valley mall to look for a hat or fascinator.
Thursday morning I went into the high comm to see the shoeman and have some boots made for winter next year.. Steve was home really early, went to post office to pick up a package, then to Bangsar. for lunch at the Social. I had won tickets to Legoland at the school trivia night a while back, so we made a last minute decision to go to Johor Bahru for the weekend since Friday was a public holiday.
Lachlan's eye a bit red and swollen in the morning, but we decided to give him an antihistamene and go anyway.  We drove down to JB and stopped at the Premium Outlets before checking into the hotel. We went to a nearby Tesco to get Lachlan some drops then found a great Chinese restaurant for dinner (we had a whole peking duck, some pork and rice and vegies), it was fabulous!
Saturday morning Lachlan's eye was worse, so we went to a local klinik then to the hospital. We still managed to get to Legoland by 11. It was a good day, though very warm and very crouded. We left at 5, went back to hotel for showers then met up with the defence family living in JB for dinner at a German beerhouse.
Sunday we went back to the outlets on the way home because Steve had seen a watch he really liked and Lachlan and I had finally been able to talk him into getting it. The drive home was a long one, lots of traffic on the road and quite often on the highway we were at a standstill. Lachlans eye was a bit better.

Week 44: oct 15 to 21

Tuesday we were supposed to have no power from 11am to 8 pm, in the morning I went to Chinatown with Michelle then had lunch at the Pavillion with Donna and Michelle. When I arrived home to get the kids from the bus the power was back on but we went out for dinner anyway.
I met Cathy for lunch on Wednesday. We went to Circus for lunch, then did some shopping around the Pavillion. In the evening a few ladies came out to the Traders for drinks.
Friday was my birthday and I had breakfast at Antipodean with Sarah and Helen, then had to rush home to meet with the Allied Pickfords rep to do our removal inspection. At lunchtime Toni and I went to Staff College for a farewell function for Colonel Toh. We got home in time to get the kids off the bus, then went out for sushi for dinner
We went to Publika on Saturday. They had a food fair on, but we didn't know that until we got there. We sampled some great food and purchased a few things. For lunch we tried Fatboys Burgers, and Lachlan tried a .bacon stufed pork burger with bananas and peanut butter! After lunch we did some groceries, then went home for a swim.
Sunday morning I went to the MANZA Christmas Bazaar, while Steve and the kids stayed home, then I met them at the Intercontinental for lunch. Instead of doing a fancy meal out on Friday night for my birthday I wanted to go to the lunch at the Intercontinental. We were there for three hours making the most of the fresh seafood, peking duck pancakes, barbecue, free flow sparkling wine and desserts. They even had some entertainment for the kids (Danae made lamingtons). It was really lovely. We didn't do much in the afternoon or evening.
